Some employees keep their heads low and just go through each day, attracting as little attention as possible. Other employees would rather show others how much they are worth by always trying to go the extra mile. But even if you do go that extra mile, that doesn’t necessarily mean you are going to get the credit you deserve for it.
That is the employee in the story below as an example. After the design team rolled out a new layout that cost much more than the old one, an employee wanted to help the company by finding a way to cut the cost. Eventually, they managed to reduce the cost from $3 per piece to only ¢7, but their boss refused to recognize their contribution and hard work. All they wanted the employees to do was keep their heads down.
