Most employees would take the money and begrudgingly follow orders, but several members of this online community were correct in suggesting that perhaps there was some middle ground here where the author could collect his bonus without bending over backward for the new hire. This meant he would “train” his replacement on the basics, but he wouldn’t necessarily summarize everything he contributed to the company over the last few years into a compact, easily digestible lesson plan. After all, the company doesn’t deserve that!
