I woke up on Obscura Day to a grey sky and drizzle: the perfect conditions for a wander through Southern Cemetery. Opened in 1879, this is the UK’s largest municipal cemetery and home to many Manchester legends including Man Utd manager Sir Matt Busby, Factory Records founder Anthony Wilson and Smiths bassist Andy Rourke (the song Cemetery Gates was reportedly about this place!).
